Michelle Obama should shut her mouth about what local schools and parents ought to be feeding kids

Not only has her husband already broken longstanding tradition of a former president refraining from criticizing the current commander-in-chief in public forum, but now his wife is piling on as well.

These Obamas, they are a lot of things but they sure aren’t much for American tradition.

In any event, Michelle Obama – of the “Let’s Move” initiative – just couldn’t resist criticizing the Trump administration over its decision to delay federal rules that she claims would have made school lunches healthier, but in reality would most likely have led to kids getting less nutrition during the day.

In an address to an annual health conference in Washington, D.C. – where she and husband Barack still live, by the way – Michelle lambasted Trump (though not by name) and his secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, over the latter’s decision to delay an approaching requirement “to reduce the amount of sodium in meals,” The Associated Press reported. In addition, “Purdue said he also planned to keep issuing waivers to a regulation requiring that more whole grains be served at schools.”

These certainly sound like great rules, don’t they? Who’s against less sodium and whole grains, other than that cretin President Donald J. Trump and the loser idiots he appointed to his Cabinet?

In her address, Obama claims that scrapping the rules means kids will wind up “eating crap” instead of healthier fare. (Related: Students throw away 85% of vegetables as “healthy” school lunch program fails.)

“Moms, think about this. I don’t care what state you live in, take me out of the equation, like me, don’t like me, but think about why some is OK with your kids eating crap,” she said. “Because here’s the secret: If somebody is doing that, they don’t care about your kid and we need to demand everyone to care deeply about our kids.”

You know, like the Obamas care about their kids, who attend Sidwell Friends private school in Washington, D.C., where they are served catered foods prepared fresh daily by actual chefs who use local and organic foods when they can, CNS News reports:

Here’s a sampling of the school’s “soup of the day:” Borscht, Tuscan white bean, Italian bean and kale, calico wild rice, Thai chicken coconut soup, local butternut squash soup, chilled cucumber and mint soup, and chilled blueberry soup.

Hypocrisy much, Michelle? Food for the elite vs. food for the little people? Got it.

About that “Let’s Move” initiative: For years after she got her husband’s administration to implement it, kids attending regular schools around the country would complain about and tweet pictures of the disgusting, unhealthy skimpy lunches they were forced to endure, such as this one from April 2014:

Is that the “crap” you are talking about, Michelle?

That’s if kids ate at all. Those who got fruits and vegetables they didn’t like threw them away, meaning a) they left cafeterias hungry; b) there was no “healthy” net effect from the program; and c) schools wasted tons of money on food kids wouldn’t eat. The problem got so bad that Natural News reported in 2014 that students were smuggling food into schools to sell to other kids – foods they would actually eat. Then there is the fact that many of the lunches weren’t even all that healthy. Natural News reported that a government-funded study published last August found that her school lunch program was putting financially vulnerable children at greater risk of obesity:

Wen You, associate professor of agricultural and applied economics at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, said that while well-intentioned, these government-funded school meal programs which aim to make students healthier, are in fact doing just the opposite.

You and her team used a survey of 21,260 students who were followed from kindergarten to eighth grade. They found that children who didn’t participate in school lunch programs supported by Michelle Obama were less likely to end up with some extra padding.

And now this woman has the temerity to criticize a Trump administration decision to end these horrible rules and hand power back to local school districts and parents who should have been deciding things like school lunch menus all along?

Michelle Obama is a lawyer by trade, not a dietitian, and she should have never tried to play one as first lady.
